Farmer the Rigger is a 20'x18' Afrofuturistic metal mask suspended in the air by large ship anchor chains and fixed to the ground with two interactive, oversized hands. As a 2023 Burning Man Honorarium recipient, Farmer the Rigger delivers a message beyond physical presence. This sculpture embodies the profound origins and intentions that emerge from those who seek to elevate their community, embrace their journey, and commitment to achieving mastery in their chosen pursuit. Farmer welcomes everyone and all forms of expression as we share this one-of-a-kind experience of collective energy and unity through the ancient practice of drumming and dancing in community.
