The Bureau of Land Management seeks substantive comments on the proposal to develop 20 miles of non-motorized singletrack trails at the Signal Peak area near the Western State campus.
Proponents are excited at the thought of new trails and economic benefits that could come along with the development.
Others take a conservation-based approach to the management of the land here. They say Signal Peak is winter habitat and that adding trails - and people - would put pressure on the animals.
