The Forest Service has decided to allow the construction of temporary roads in the North Fork Coal Mining Area, within a larger inventory of roadless areas in Colorado. Crested Butte-based environmental group High Country Conservation Advocates says this is a bad deal for public lands in Gunnison County, while County Commissioners see an opportunity to capture methane for natural gas sales.
