Description

Dr. Robin Bingham, an evolutionary ecologist at Western State Colorado University, was awarded a $75,000 grant from the US Fish & Wildlife Service to study the rare plant known as the skiff milkvetch.

The plant is thought to grow on just 85 acres in Gunnison and Saguache County. The plant faces peril from predators and climate change.

You've seen the signs at Hartman Rocks. Learn about the skiff milkvetch - and Dr. Bingham's goals with the 5-year study - in today's story.
