Description

This little mix is dedicated to the origins of modern dance music. In the late 60s before the expression DISCO was born a four to the floor driven soulful beat came out of the city of Philadelphia which mainly based on the two producers Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. To use the words of the great Mel Cherren (founder of West End Recordings) "We just called it danceable R 'n B." You will find classics from Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Dionne Warwick and MFSB in this mix. For those who always listen carefully you will recognise that the transitions might getting a bit bumpy. Given the original recordings are done by live musicians, legandary DJs like Francis Grasso, David Mancuso or Larry Levan had their issues with that too. In the end it's just all about the Music. So you may will turn on this little mix while sitting on a terrase on a warm sunny day and having a cocktail or maybe start the evening dancing with your beloved ones. Just enjoy! I would appreciate if you leave a comment what's the occation you have listened to this litte mix?

Sincerely yours
NiCa
