This is a dedication to the men and women who have served and to those who have fallen in the on going conflict in Afghanistan. NATO, Australia, UK forces have fought side by side an impossible fight that at points is just a survival game for a band of brothers. Over three administrations the goals and commitments have changed, but the dedication of those forces has never wavered. This really shows the importance of real thoughtful leadership and a mission with an end goal. As forces escalate in size it may seem that we move back in time, all along the war is almost forgotten to all. Where are we as a country to forget a war? The longest war in our history. It's a machine that can't be stopped; built on the commitment of those who put country and mission over personal well being.
As we march out east
To the valley of thorns
We look through our tears
But do we belong
You can not breath
Through the smoke and fire
You can not live
when we die by the sword
Angels we pray
Our side will prevail
As we make our way
To the end of this world
The bullets fly, The shadows come
They pass across this valley of thorns
We move ahead We are locked behind
When We move ahead we walk back in time
As we march out east
through this forgotten war
This barren soil
is stained with our blood
We must look back
To see where we’ve come
So many years
Through this valley of thorns
