Thomas is my new friend from Dublin, and wow can he play. I really enjoy hanging with him online and over the last few months we have been working on some songs. This is a tune I knew he would contribute some amazing guitar work to.
After i heard it it I said "wow" and he kindly said "I wanted to make it hard to see where I came in or what I did"
One of the amazing THINGS I have found in collaboration is how people check their egos at the door for the song, if you really want to serve the tune. It's a huge thing for me to figure out, being such a control freak, and such an isolationist in my personal life. I'm still working on it.
Well this song is about just what it soundS like, about loss, and continuing after loss. We all will face it, and we all must continue.
The Good Ones
Life is not fare
what more can she say
But you’ve so much love
Im sure you’ll do okay
She closes the window
Turns out the light
Kisses her daughter
tells her goodnight
Sometime life it takes the good ones
Takes them far from our lives
No matter how deep our wisdom
We will never know just why
She goes down the stairs
Turns out the light
KIssess his picture
Then starts to cry
Life can't be easy
But why is it so hard
She feels so empty
But she must carry on
