Description

Alma Tucker was working for the Mexican Consulate in San Diego when she met a 14-year-old Mexican girl who’d been raped by a smuggler when she was crossing into the US. That experience spurred Alma to open a safe house in Tijuana, Mexico, for victims of sex trafficking. Brooke Binkowski reports, and talks to host Maria Hinojosa about efforts to combat sex trafficking on both sides of the border.
