Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a condition where the heart beats irregularly. AF is important to diagnose and treat as it can increase our risk of other conditions such as; heart failure and stroke.
AF is very common in Australia, in fact it is estimated that more than half a million Australians are living with AF.
Today we speak to Dr Gattorna about diagnosing and managing atrial fibrillation.
Dr Gattorna is a cardiologist at St John of God Hospital in Subiaco who specialises in treating cardiac arrhythmias & catheter ablation.
