Description

Osteoarthritis is a chronic and progressive condition that mostly affects the hands, spine and joints such as; hips, knees and ankles.

It is the most common form of arthritis in Australia. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics , 1 in 11 people have osteoarthritis, making it the leading reason for knee and hip replacement surgeries.

Joint replacement requires great consideration and research, for this reason we speak to Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr Sam Young who is an Australian and internationally trained orthopaedic surgeon with a particular interest in reconstructive and trauma surgery of the hip and knee to discuss osteoarthritis and the varying treatment options available.
