We live in a fast world, full of technology, overloaded by information and pressures coming from all directions and at times everyone men, women and children feel anxious.
However have your feelings of anxiousness started to impact how you live your life and your relationships?
As outlined by Beyond Blue, 'Anxiety is the most common mental health condition in Australia. On average, one in four people will experience anxiety. And in a 12 month period, over 2 million Australians will experience anxiety'.
So if you are suffering Anxiety you are certainly not alone! And the sooner you are able to reach out and speak to someone the sooner people with professional help and support are able to help you recover and live a life less stressed and upsetting.
Reaching out and speaking to someone is always a good idea, a trusted friend or family member and if you feel comfortable speaking to your doctor, a GP can help with assisting you with a referral to a Clinical Psychologist to perhaps discuss your concerns in more detail and what is worrying you and affecting how you live your life and your relationships.
Please don't suffer in silence. Anxiety is commonly experienced by many people and finding people that can help generally starts with a conversation with a GP or pick up the phone and speak to healthcare professionals from Beyond Blue or Black Dog Institute.
We speak with Clinical Psychologist Amanda Cole about Anxiety and answer many questions about why we feel anxious, when does feeling anxious become a problem that we really need to speak to a healthcare professional about when feeling anxious becomes an anxiety disorder. Amanda also explains to us about mindfulness and meditation and is there actually a difference? We also discuss can the practice of meditation help to manage anxiety?
