Hoshiko Yamane

About the Composition: This piece feels like the first time you go into the ocean. It's a feeling we often forget as we grow up or begin life in the city: the knowledge that human life is with nature.
Composer Bio: Originally from Osaka, Hoshiko Yamane is a classically trained violinist and composer. She is a current member of the German electronic group Tangerine Dream. Over the years, she has worked with numerous dance and theatre companies and toured with countless artists, collaborating with Mikael Lind, Eraldo Bernocchi, and Library Tapes, among others. Her solo works have been released by 1631 Recordings and Decca Publishing. During the pandemic Yamane began a performing improvisation and composing for silent movies in real time. As part of the project, a total of fifty films were livestreamed on YouTube between 2020 and 2021. In her solo project "Tukico," she composes and performs electronic music with the electric violin.
