Curator Dieter Koepplin of the Kunstmuseum Basel, Switzerland, discusses the life and work of Joseph Beuys in the tenth annual Hilla Rebay Lecture, which took place on October 27, 1989. This talk also celebrates the tenth anniversary of "Joseph Beuys" (1979–80), a retrospective of the artist’s work at the Guggenheim Museum. Curator Vivian Barnett of the Guggenheim introduces the lecture.
