This lecture discusses the 16th century philosopher Rene Descartes' work The Meditations on First Philosophy, and focuses on his first meditation. It examines his deepening of methodological doubt by extending it beyond the senses to calling mathematics and geometry (and all other modes of knowledge based on them) into doubt
