“I am offended” has become one of the most powerful phrases in the English language. In an age when disagreement has become synonymous with not only disapproval but also with hatred, how do we understand this cultural shift and how do we develop a means to constructively engage with it? How do we balance our desire for justice with our obligation to extend grace?
