Another month brings another essential EP from leading Swiss techno label !Organism. This time the goods are served up by P-Ben, who offers three standout originals, one of which is remixed in style by Re:Axis.

P-Ben is a French techno practitioner who has released on Ovum and Motech as well as on the legendary KMS where he remixed label boss Kevin Saunderson. He is someone with a broad stylistic range that means his albums are as essential as his EPs, and everyone from Mixmag to Dave Clarke, Trax Mag to Marcel Dettmann have come out in support of him in the past.

"Trackdecay" is a terrific opener that is located somewhere in deep space, with sci-fi signifiers, sonar like synth bleeps and smooth, rolling drums all making it feel like you are on an intergalactic voyage. Truly moody and hypnotic, it then gets remixed by Re:Axis, a Portuguese producer with formal playing skills, a celebrated discography and a singular techno sound. His version is just as cosmic, but has busier drums, more lively perc and some manic, brilliantly disorientating melodies raining down from above.

The trippy "CFTC" finds P-Ben offer a different mood, one with bigger, bolder drums and wild synths which flail about and bring a real sense of craziness to the barrel-chested techno beats below. It is a peak time monster to slay the floor and really traps you in a mechanised groove.

Completing the picture is "Driver Two", a fathoms deep cut with aqueous synths making for a soothing chamber of sound. Bleeping bell sounds, coarse synth lines and hunched drums all add to the intensity and drama of this most devilish production.

Overall, then, this is the sort of techno that makes dance floors move and groove all night long.
