It is Frenchman Jusaï who takes the reins of the all conquering techno label that is !Organism for its next release. He serves up three searing cuts and a remix from HOBI completes the powerful package.
Jusaï has had a blistering career since 2008, and in that time has warmed up for DJ Oizo, has worked as co-manager of Among Records, has remixed the likes of Tom Hades and is also a regular at festivals like Garorock. His techno style is carefully cadenced and truly rousing and these new cuts find him in fine form.
Up first is ‘Acid Perc,’ a slamming track with fizzing synths zipping about between hard claps and thumping kicks. It is a macho effort to make you march and really jumps out of the speakers. The excellent remix comes from the hard to define Italian HOBI. He has released music on Off White Records, Planet Rhythm and many others and tours all over Europe with his introspective take on techno. His vital version is warm and subterranean, wth circling synths trapping you in the groove and acid lines freaking you out.
Then it’s back to Jusaï for the standout ‘Hawk’, another high impact, high pressure techno track with forceful drums and increasingly pressured percussion. It’s punchy and powerful and is exactly how techno should sound. Last but not least is the more melodic ‘Shadow’ which has ravey stabs bring a celestial feel to the rolling rubber drums below.
Four more fearsome cuts from this label confirm it is right at the top of the techno tree.
