!Organism kick off 2017 with a high impact EP from Italian producer Vincent Hole that includes a top remix by Scottish techno talent Secluded.
Like many others, Hole takes his main influences from Detroit techno and artists like Derrick May and Juan Atkins. As such he marries dark, synthetic and brooding sounds with brighter ambient melodies and does so using both digital and hardware tools on labels like Trapez, Reload Black and Naked Lunch.
Kicking things off in forceful style with ‘Celestial’, a masterfully moody seven minute roller with hunched kick drums, skittish claps and a rugged lead synth that adds more weight to this focussed techno groove. As it rolls on and hits harder, the synths become frazzled; the hi hats big and icy, and the whole thing is a monstrous affair.
Next comes ‘After Me’, another no-frills and stripped back techno thumper, this time with spooky little percussive sounds gliding above the groove. Millsian synth lines eventually join the fray to add a sci-fi feeling that carries you well off into the dark night sky.
Sleaze Records label boss Hans Bouffmyhre remixes under his Secluded guise. He does so by layering in harder hitting, more raw drums, brain frying loops and an unresolved lead line that burrows deep into your psyche.
Full of intrigue and atmosphere, this is another well crafted and high grade techno release from Swiss crew !Organism.
