In what is looking like a stellar start to 2017, !Organism serve up a further EP this time from regular label artist Gene Karz at the controls with a remix from Spektre.
Karz hails from Belarus and started his career back in 2008. Since then he has released on this label as well as Binary404, Naked Lunch and Italo Business and has had his tunes played by the likes of Dubfire, Richie Hawtin and Paco Osuna amongst others. His last outing here was in October 2016 and once again he offers pure techno excellence.
First up is 'Hack', a perfectly loopy affair that rolls and rolls and sucks you in to the tumultuous groove. Percussion skips and spins, frazzled synths bring texture and the whole thing is a groovy number to get 'floors bouncing.
Returning label act Spektre are known for their dark fusions of sinister sounds and twisted synths which come from a bleak techno future. Their music comes on labels like Definition Records and 1605 and this new remix is another standout effort. It reworks 'Hack' into something more brutal and banging, with coarse textures and tortured synth lines whipping about up top.
The final fantastic original is 'Worn Out,' a darker and more direct cut with stiff drums and wriggly bass lines that will make you move. Growing bigger and bolder as it unfolds, hi hats bring incendiary techno feelings and there is a real air of mystery throughout.
All in all this is another effective techno offering from the Swiss powerhouse !Organism.
