!Organism’s unstoppable techno juggernaut rolls on with another weaponised release, this time from Hordienko Roman with remixes from Yan Stricker and Virulent.
Roman is an emerging producer who has contributed to the Yin Yang label before now, and is also at home on Bashi Records and Eclipse Recordings. Here he keeps up a fine streak with two standout cuts.
The thrilling ‘Turbulencia’ is a bombastic cut with stiff hits, white noise sweeps and busy percussive lines that really make you get loose. Alien vocals and lots of filters add plenty of drama that keeps you on your toes throughout.
First to remix to perfection is Virulent, who is an American producer who has decades worth of experience and releases on Dystopian Rhythm, 611 Records and Re-Konstrukt. His version is a high pressure affair with thick synths and cantering drums making for an urgent, supple techno groove run through with all kinds of Jeff Mills style melodies.
On the second great remix is label boss Yan Stricker, who has been churning out techno treats since the mid nineties. His label is a real bastion of quality in the techno landscape and this remix is one with serious bounce and weight in the oversized drums. Building in stages, it is run through with ravey vocal stabs and has a seriously meaty bottom end that is forceful and funky.
Lastly, it’s back to Roman for ‘Hustle,’ which is a broody cut that rocks back and forth on well defined drums. Searching synths spray across the airwaves and metallic hits and snare rolls constantly up the ante until vocals and big filter sweeps really explode and you get carried away on the fine groove.
Techno heads will find plenty to love here across this brilliant varied EP.
