*Saturday Extra* Moab locals may know Christian Wright as a river guide or even longtime KZMU DJ. But he’s also an author of the forthcoming “Carbon County, USA: Miners for Democracy in Utah and the West.” It centers on the 1970s intermountain energy boom, telling the story of America’s premier industrial labor union at the height of its strength. In it, Wright details how miners’ racial, gender, and generational identities shaped their changing relationships to mining and organized labor. Earlier this week, he joined KZMU’s Radio Book Club to talk about the book. Host Andy Nettell begins the conversation.
