A small party of people gathered off Spanish Valley Drive this weekend to scoop up native vegetation on a large swath of rolling hills. Soon replacing sagebrush and cacti is infrastructure for a 300 unit affordable housing development – Arroyo Crossing. Spearheaded by the Moab Area Community Land Trust, its board members call the development “housing for locals, by locals,” ensuring future residential opportunities for Moabites at diverse incomes.
