It was an unprecedented move last week when Governor Gary Herbert announced all public schools in Utah will be dismissed for two weeks, in the hope it would prevent a major outbreak of COVID-19. After his announcement, Grand County’s school administrators and staff sprang into action – mobilizing online classes, coursework, and meals. We speak with Helen M Knight Elementary School Principal Taryn Kay, who is serving as the district’s leader when it comes to COVID-19 precautions and preparedness.
