The Southeast Utah Health Department has formally asked the Acting Superintendent of Arches and Canyonlands National Parks to implement an indefinite closure. If the parks are closed, they would join a growing list of National Parks shuttering to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including the recently shut Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks near Jackson Hole. And, Colorado Governor Jared Polis issues a statewide ‘stay at home’ order as social distancing efforts in the state are not as effective as hoped.
