In my opinion, this is one of the finest of the contemporary Great American Songbook tunes ever written, of course by the great Leon Russell, who just passed away in November 2016. This song has been covered by so many people, many of whom are among my favorite artists. This version is patterned after Carpenters from a 1972 album with the same name. While theirs was not a single, it was the lead off song of the album and is a fan favorite and features an amazing saxophone solo in the middle of the song; very sultry. I was lucky enough to find a nearly-identical track and lowered it 3 half-steps to fit my range. RIP Mr. Russell - you provided the soundtrack to many lives around the world.
