I worked a long time on remixing this, and short of re-recording the lead vocal, this is just a wonderful capture of what I think is one of the greatest songs ever written. A young man, a guy named Jack, who was working at Dave & Busters when we first started gigging there in 1990 I think approached me one day and asked me if I'd learn this song, and gave me a cassette tape with the original on one side and the artists's track on the other. At that time, it was nearly unheard of to have an original track of the artist's backing. I'd never heard the song and wasn't much into Contemporary Christian music, but I was touched by the message of the song immediately and loved it. I began performing it and people responded well to it, and even requested it from time to time. My friend Dory Swyhart Coyle (at the time) and I used to have "Gospel Off's" with this and her amazing "Pour On The Power"..good times. I still struggle with faith at 50 years old, but when I envision the meaning behind this song, the struggle isn't very hard at all.
