A song that will be used in a project I'm just about to finish up, picked specifically for its lyric content and haunting melody combination. The timing couldn't have been more perfect with my increased capability to isolate my own recorded vocals. This song has a beautiful melody and long standing place as a favorite of mine. It's not a well known hit and was covered by The Carpenters in the 70's on their "A Kind of Hush" album; it is a fan favorite. I never thought I'd have the chance to record it and stumbled across a track last year (2015). I cut it, but at that time never really got a satisfactory vocal recording. Now, with newer technology available to me and increased knowledge, I have gotten much better control on my recordings. This is a remix of that recording but it definitely has new life. Here is "One More Time"; with the effects on the 2nd phrase intentional to represent going to see the ghosts of the past, One More Time....
I'm going way down south to Louisiana, tonight
Well, I'll just close my eyes
And everything's alright
And though I'm really far away
I'll make my get away
And no one need really know that I've been gone...
One more time for the good times
That far out weigh the bad
One more time for the good times
When love was all we had
I'm going way down south to Baton Rouge
Well, I'll just close the door
And turn out all the lights
And all the images dance by
Of folks and friends who lie
Back home where things are slow and easy going..
One more time for the good times
That far out weigh the bad
One more time for the good times
When love was all
When love was all
When love was all we had
One more time
