The idea of me covering a Madonna song was pretty preposterous to me, even way back when - not because i didn't like her music, I do - especially that from the 80's & 90's, but mainly because the range was so high in comparison. However, this was a brand new song in 1996 and I thought it was and till is one of her very best. I was doing a LOT of theater and my voice was in probably the best shape it's ever been in, especially to hit these notes. It was a good couple of years of a stretch of time that I could do this pretty easily - of course, 20 years and being a smoker has brought my natural key down by about a full step and a half, but that also has to do with age. Anyway, ran across this gem tonight and thought I'd share it.
