Norwegian singer-songwriter Ole Kirkeng seemingly burst out of nowhere in 2021 with the EP Rocking Chair. The release recently earned him his first Spellemann award (Norwegian Grammy). Building upon this momentum, Kirkeng released the single “Still on My Mind” in April and – while that song should still be on your mind – he’s now ready with a new track: The longing “Million Miles”.

"Million Miles" is a timeless song – it really sounds like it's been around forever, like a track you’ve heard before. Is it a Lucinda-song? A Jackson Browne original? It is in fact Ole Kirkeng, and the song is another testament to his effortless songwriting. And he’s only getting started.

Kirkeng is a fresh, young and new voice on the Nordicana scene, but that doesn’t mean he’s inexperienced. As a member of Courtney Marie Andrews’ touring band (she provides the lush backing vocals on this track), and having opened for Molly Tuttle on tour, Kirkeng has paid dues, and played in front of thousands. He’s also a graduate of Berklee College of Music.

“Million Miles” features Darling West’s rhythm section (Tor Egil Kreken and Thomas Gallatin), along with lead guitarist Sander Eriksen Nordahl. Norwegian guitar legend Geir Sundstøl provides the yearning pedal steel and a handful of other more or less exotic instruments.
