The past 18 months have thrown many significant challenges our way. Everything from bushfires, to a mouse
plague, to the flooding of recent days … not to mention the elephant in the room – Coronavirus. The effects
have been devastating.
But there is a silver lining. During these crises, we’ve witnessed – over and over – the importance of
neighbours and communities and the vital role they play. And it’s these immediate people around us who
provide the support that’s sometimes desperately needed.
Over the past year, our perception of neighbours and the role they play has changed.
Sunday March 28 is Neighbour Day – it’s Australia’s annual celebration of community, and it encourages
people to connect with those who live in their neighbourhood … in person or virtually.
To chat with us about why we should celebrate our neighbours, we’re joined by Neighbour Day Ambassador,
NITV Presenter, producer, film-maker and proud First Nations woman, Natalie Ahmat.
