A week before beginning kindergarten, Khylan White of Birmingham, Alabama, was diagnosed with DIPG, a terminal form of brain cancer for which there is no known cure. After meeting Your Pie Manager Marsha Davis, I found out about Khy. His aunt works at Your Pie. Marsha wanted to do something special for Khy, so we put our heads together and came up with a plan. On Friday, March 8th, Khy will visit with City of Birmingham Mayor Woodfin in his office. There, a proclamation will be signed making Khy mayor for the day! After our visit to city hall, our team, which includes the mayor’s office, WKJC’s Joe Lockett, Josi Black, and myself along with Miss University of Alabama Tiara Pennington will head over to Your Pie in Uptown and we will have a pizza party with Khy! I hope that many will come out to congratulate Khy on becoming mayor for the day and show support for him and his family as they face this cancer battle!
