Yung Patronus is the latest project created by B.A Scribe Mecca,
releasing on the heels of a group mix-tape with Yodi Mac, titled
"BadYoshi" earlier this year. The record originally started as a
dedication project to DJ Grumble, a producer BA has worked closely
with the last 4 years, but evolved into a brighter self-reflective
tape.
Yung Patronus moves out of the dark frequencies of BA’s typical sounds
and is characterized by a glowing, more sonically uplifting experience
that radiates West-Coast summertime vibes. Though this album is his
brightest yet, it’s lyrics reflect the broodiness he’s known for and
suggests a personal and internal struggle to seek light.
This record incorporates a number of Northwest artists including
Seattle based rapper and painter Perry Porter, Tacoma-natives singer
songwriter Sotaria & lyricist L.E.X. with the whole project mixed and mastered by Sendai Mike.
