Today we discuss the themes of isolation, alcoholism, trauma and abuse in Stanley Kubrick's 1980 adaptation of the Stephen King novel The Shining. It is wrought with all of these. It was interesting to watch it through the lens of addiction and see it as more than just a horror movie. Happy Halloween!!!
