On today’s program:
• The suicide rates of Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people continues to be a very alarming issue. Today we will hear some audio from last night’s ABC Q&A program, where the federal Leader of the Opposition Bill Shorten discussed Indigenous suicide.
• Staying on the topic of Aboriginal suicide, Adele Cox project Director of the National Indigenous Critical Response Service will be discussing the Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander suicide prevention evaluation project was delivered to the then prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull in 2016.
• Collaboration with elders from the NPY woman’s council has produced a culturally orientated meditation app called Smiling minds, with the aim of helping Aboriginal Communities deal with Mental health and trauma issues.
