On today’s program:
• One of the most contentious topics is the proposed National Aboriginal Art Gallery here in Alice Springs and the similar gallery being built in Adelaide. Lauren Moss, the Northern Territory Minister for Tourism Culture and Sport recently came into the CAAMA studios for a chat about progress on the Gallery here in Alice Springs.
• Late last week traditional owners, first nation’s peoples and other groups travelled to Sydney sharing their collective concerns about fracking. Today we will hear from a traditional owner who travelled from the NT community of Elliot to the Power of Country tour.
• Meanwhile research from Charles Darwin University has found water in some Aboriginal communities is not safe.
• Also Sunday marked the start of Fostering Kinship Carers Week, a time to celebrate and acknowledge the work done by foster and kinship carers.
