On today’s program:
• This week marks National Reconciliation Week, a time to learn and share culture, history and achievements in order to help move forward as a whole. This year’s theme is ‘Grounded in Truth, Walk Together with Courage’. To discuss Reconciliation Week, Karen Mundine, CEO of Reconciliation Australia will be joining us on the program this morning.
• The Northern Territories Corrections Commissioner Scott McNairn will be discussing the alarming rates of Aboriginal incarceration in the NT, which he says has the worst rate of incarceration and second highest rates of imprisonment of Aboriginal people.
• Last weekend 16 passionate young Territorians came together in Darwin for a NT Youth Round Table Meeting. One of the members from the round table will be discussing changes she would like to see and some of the work the round table is doing.
