Description

National Science Week is a time to celebrate science and technology as thousands of events were held across the country earlier this month.

An event which came to Alice Springs was the Shell Questacon Science Circus. The Circus is made up of 16 postgraduate students studying a Master of Science Communication Outreach at the Australian National University.

The group travel around in a large truck to regional and remote communities with the aim of breaking down the stereotypes of science through exciting interactive shows. Since it began in 1985 the Science Circus has visited more than 500 communities and 90 remote Indigenous communities.

During their time in Alice Springs CAAMA Radio spoke with Wiradjuri woman Emma Dunn, who is a member of the 2019 Questacon Science Circus team.
