We hope everyone is staying healthy, and safe, and strong, and passionate, and as positive as they can.
We are getting down to the nitty-gritty folks: the nitty-gritty (that’s such a weird phrase to type). Mario and Tom begin this weeks show by talking about the two big releases from 2020 that everyone wanted to see but that only became widely available near the third month of 2021 – go figure. First up is “Minari” from Lee Isaac Chung now streaming on A24’s streaming theater (9:00), then they take a trip with Frances McDormand and director Chloe Zhao to “Nomadland,” now streaming on Hulu (28:00). Then they ask for help trying to find their number 6’s: Mario (1:00:15), Tom (1:39:20).
On Tap!!!
We’re staying weird, or at least uncommon: From our friends at Relic Brewing in Plainville, CT: their 9th Anniversary Triple IPA brewed with 9 different hops (5:30) - https://www.relicbeer.com/menu/default.html
Music Credits: “Her Eyes Play Tricks on the Camera” – Robert Pollard, “Pivotal Film” – Guided by Voices, “Sugarcube” – Yo La Tengo, “Ghost” – Neutral Milk Hotel.
