What better way to celebrate the 500th episode of @DarkScienceElectro than by rewinding 10 years in order to take a listen to the first-ever episode of the show!? Backstory: I got my start doing this podcast more than 10 years ago on April 23rd of 2010. I was just 26 years old and was interested in sharing my definition of Electro music with the world and I saw an opportunity with Soundcloud's growing audience. I fully assumed my efforts would fall on deaf ears and I was absolutely right to assume that; For the few years that I did the show, I was lucky to have 20 plays on a mix in a month, though I wasn't remotely discouraged by it. I had this unstoppable drive to indoctrinate listeners with the weirder, darker, colder, sci-fi-tinged Electro music that wasn't getting the sort of attention that I thought it deserved. I never expected to do this for 10 years nor did I have a set end-date in mind when I started the show. Honestly, I wouldn't have been surprised to have seen it collapse after a year, yet here we are more than 10 years later standing at the foot of one of the most respected weekly Electro music podcast/outlets on the internet (so I've heard). I want to take this opportunity to thank all the people that shared, listened, liked the show over the years. I would be lying if I told you that I wouldn't be doing it without you, however, it is important to note that the constant stream of encouragement and appreciation certainly does help to fuel my fire/passion for doing what I do with @DarkScienceElectro - One exception to that is that I absolutely wouldn't be able to do this show without the labels and artists that have been so generous in supplying me with promotional music over the years. On behalf of the fans of Dark Science Electro (including myself), thank you so much for your trust, generosity and support. Love live Electro.
