One Netflix's latest releases - Spenser Confidential. Directed by Peter Berg, Spenser Confidential is the action comedy film very loosely based on the novel Wonderland by Ace Atkins and uses the names of characters created by Robert B. Parker.
This movie marks the fifth collaboration between Mark Wahlberg and director Peter Berg after Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon, Patriots Day, and Mile 22.
Ex-cop Spenser (Mark Wahlberg) just got out of prison. He gets roped into helping his old boxing coach and mentor, Henry (Alan Arkin), and ends up with a brash, no-nonsense MMA fighter, as a roommate – Hawk (Winston Duke). When two of Spenser’s former colleagues turn up murdered, he recruits Hawk and his foul-mouthed ex-girlfriend, Cissy (Iliza Shlesinger), to help him investigate and bring the culprits to justice.
