Essex is one of the driest spots in the world, making it an ideal place to demonstrate plants which thrive in dry conditions. As well as a gravel garden, the Beth Chatto Gardens in Elmstead Market also features a water garden, scree garden, woodland and reservoir garden. Ken spoke to David Ward garden manager about how they have expanded the nursery, tea room and mail order side of the business.
