Hear Winston Churchill on Communism in his own words.
This month, March 5 marked the 75th anniversary of Winston Churchill's visit to the United States. He came at the invitation of President Truman and Westminister College. It was there at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri that Churchill delivered an address that has come to be known as his “Iron Curtain” speech.
Addressing the threats posed by Communism, Churchill's speech is as relevant then as it is today. He noted: “. . . an ‘iron curtain’ has descended across the continent, allowing police governments to rule . . . .” In 1946, the greatest geostrategic threat was Russia. Today, it is China. Hear more.
Russia, China, together with Islamic countries such as Iran - nations under Communism and Islamism -partner to sabotage the security of the United States. As Churchill stated: "... throughout the world, Communist fifth columns are established and work in complete unity and absolute obedience to the directions they receive from the Communist centre." What Churchill stated then, is also true for the 21st century.
In addition, Churchill's famous 1946 speech, noted that in the United States, Communism was in its infancy. No longer. Today we need only look at the Democratic Party. Now, the Communist wing inside the Democratic Party is the Congressional Progressive Caucus. The caucus consists of at minimum 93 members of the House of Representatives and one senator. It was formed by the Communist Party USA and the Democratic Socialists of America. Indeed, Biden’s nominee for interior secretary is Rep. Deb Haaland (D-N.M.) who is the vice-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
Controlling numerous congressional committees, the Progressives have introduced a series of socialist policies over the last several years, but particularly now under the Biden-Harris administration. These policies include reparations, the Green New Deal, the $15 minimum wage, bans on fracking, critical race theory, unlawful changes to state voting procedures, and packing the Supreme Court and so much more.
The Marxist idea that capitalism oppresses the workers has been expanded to include the idea that capitalism and oppression in Western countries is about race and gender.
Enter Critical Race Theory, CRT. The Democrats of the Congressional Progressive Caucus have told Americans that Critical Race Theory is about white privilege and white supremacy.
And in listening again to Churchill's speech, aired this weekend on C-Span, I thought of many other policy issues and players including the Black Lives Matter organization. The leaders of this movement have stated they are "trained Marxists." They have met with Chinese Communist officials and their BLM leaders and supporters continue to speak to destroying capitalism, a free market economy, and destroying the family unit....
