The Yenshui Fireworks Festival was a saving grace to the people of Taiwan in the late 1800s. The evil spirits of disease were ravaging the townsfolk and by summoning the God of War, they were able to save themselves. Summoning this God was a simple as setting off thousands of fireworks in the middle of crowds of people.
