First Samuel focuses on three kings—Samuel, Saul and David—but points to a messianic King now on the horizon. Pastor Steve begins a sermon series from this Old Testament book with the birth of Samuel and the prayer of his mother Hannah (chapter 1), whose example shows us 3 faithful responses for believers resting in God's sovereign purpose. Hannah saw God's hand even in her hurt, sought God's help with her whole heart, and honored God for His grace—coming to the eventual conclusion that only God is enough.
