“Stay with me; do not be afraid, even though he who is seeking my life is seeking your life. For you are safe with me.” In 1 Samuel 22, King David’s protection for his people stands in stark contrast to Saul’s attempts to destroy them. Pastor Steve’s message highlights the connection between the Lord’s Anointed king David and his descendant Jesus, our refuge (and how the world’s appointed ruler Saul demonstrates the opposite). Out of this we find confidence that Jesus Christ is THE place—and the world is NO place—to find refuge.
