God asked Abraham to do some pretty crazy things. As Tim O'Byrne teaches from Genesis 17, this included becoming circumcised at age 99, along with the males with him, to mark a covenant between God and Abraham's descendants. This man of faith obeys God, but also struggles with doubt when God promises a child to Sarah at age 90. God may be asking us to do some pretty crazy things too, and lives are changed when the faithful listen to God. But like Abraham, whose righteousness was credited to him by faith, we aren't saved by our acts of obedience, but Christ's (Romans 4).
