Mark Kline :: Creekside Church :: Sunday, November 11, 2018

The intended audience of the book of Hebrews was in large part recent converts from Judaism and spiritually lazy or immature Christians, like many in our churches today. As the author labored to push his readers toward a mature faith and a “meatier” grasp of the truth of Jesus Christ as our great high priest, Mark Kline preaches from Hebrews 7:1-10 and the heftier teaching of Melchizedek. Mark covers the typeology, superiority, and contemporary relevance of this ancient priest and king, who was a picture of the coming Christ for Old Testament Israel. In the way Melchizedek was greater than Abraham and other patriarchs, so too is Jesus, our priest and king, greater than any other way to God. Mark’s message follows announcements and a salute to Creekside’s military veterans.
