250 years ago Ludwig Van Beethoven was born, December 16, 1770. And to honor his timeless musical genius and bring the world together, the #GlobalOdeToJoy was conceived. Groups from all over the world created and submitted musical videos celebrating Beethoven’s 9th symphony, Ode to Joy, and you, members of the Cleveland Orchestra are one of the few North American, and as far as I can tell, the only Ohio group to take part.
In this time of Covid-19, isolation, death, divisive, destructive politics, racism, police violence, hunger and fear, we need connection, humanity, generosity, love and yes, JOY.
