I'm going to guess that everyone who listens to this show, like us, is a tremendous nerd in some fashion, and so will wholly empathize with the cringe-by-proxy feeling of suffering through President Bartlett's superficially didactic rambling in this cold open. This episode is all over the map, but makes sure to touch on a few of our favorite Sorkin themes like utterly point blank sexism, Russia-poking, and the (eminently correct and intuitive) Mouths-of-Babes political positions taken up by the junior staff. Because they're wrong, you understand, by virtue of someone being older than they are.
And speaking of older: It's OK to not like classical music. It's also OK to love classical music, but outside of the class-gating culturally-perpetuated ~*sophistication*~ that preference connotes, it says nothing about a person's character or other capability!
