Roaring 90's is a collection of stories from our community elders collected throughout 2018. This collection of stories features the memories of yesteryear; accounts of war, racism, technological triumph, assimilation and social change.
Vern Gooch is not quite 90, but his story was so special that we thought we’d make an exception. He was 86 when this story was recorded. Vern is a survivor of the Holocaust, having fled Germany in 1938 with his immediate family in to seek refuge in Australia. Here, he shares his memories of Germany before he left, and what it was like growing up in Australia.
